T71/882 awarded to Walter Williamson, receiver. Counterclaims from Evan Baillie; T. Clive; John Brown. John Brown of Taunton [Somerset] submitted petition to Commission dated 29/10/1835 forwarded by J.C. Hayward of 93 Minories: J.C. Hayward states his mortgage dates back to 1765, 'and now unfortunately he is reduced to a dependance on this property the proceeds of which has been so irregularly paid.'
T71/1602: letter from J.C. Hayward dated 17/12/1835, 'I have to return my thanks for the attention you have paid to my communications on the matter of my relation Mr J Brown of Taunton, which I am sorry to find cannot yet be adjusted but I hope it soon will - his case is an extreme hard one.' Petition alludes to a Colonial chancery suit of Morton versus Dennistoun and others.
Times 5/8/1836 p. 2: sale by auction as result of Herbert v Dennistoun and Comrie v Dennistoun of Saddle Hill estate, as well as Montpellier, Clay Gut and Cox Heath. George Webbe was Master in Chancery.
