2nd May 1836 | 31 Enslaved | £460 11s 6d
Parliamentary Papers p. 322. T71/892: Charles Kirby and Edw Jackson claimed as owners-in-fee. Counterclaims against Edward Jackson's moiety from Wm Laborde and Warner Ottley. Half the compensation (i.e. £460 11s 6d) went to the Court of Chancery. [Edward Jackson of Palmiste Park had died c. 1830, raising the question of Edw. Jackson ostensibly claiming].
T71/500 p. 143: enslaved persons registered to Charles Kirby and Edward Jackson by Ann Gorst and Chas Kirby in 1834.
See next claim, a 2nd record under St Vincent 579: the two claims appear to cover two complementary awards for the same 31 enslaved people
