Parliamentary Papers p. 322. T71/892: claim by Alexander Cruickshank et al as trustees of Colonel John Gerard. Counterclaim by Mary Barrett of Bowlbood (?) St Vincent for 1/3rd of the compensation money for dower [see also St Vincent claim no. 595]. Memorial of Alexander Cruickshank et al praying compensation money might not be invested on the ground of the counterclaim being 'frivolous and vexatious'. Letter dated 11/04/1836 from J.H. Forbes 'stating that according to the recommendation of the Commissioners an application had been made to the Privy Council and that the Judicial Committee were pleased to dismiss Mrs Barrett's appeal with costs, and requesting that under these circumstances an award might be made at once to the claimants'.
