Parliamentary Papers p. 192.
T71/557 p. 36: 338 enslaved persons were registered as the property of the estate of John Cobham (deceased) by Forster [?] Clarke, his attorney. The estate is given as 'Applewhaite's'.
George Hilhouse, Richard Bright and Henry Bush (together with Joseph Parker) were the executors of the Bristol merchant Robert Bush (will proven 15/04/1829 PROB 11/1754), one of whose sons was John Cobham Bush and who was in turn an executor of John Cobham: this may therefore have been the capacity in which the three were awardees.
