T71/1609: letter, dated 06/10/1835, from Rowland E. Williams, Weston [?] Grove, Thames Ditton, stating: came to your office on 22nd, 23rd Sept, 30th Sept , and 5th October. 'As my residence is distant from London 13 miles, and ..on each occasion I had travelled that distance, I requested the Clerk to inform me "whether I might rely on the certiifcate being granted to me on the named Friday". He said perhaps but 'As I feel persuaded, Gentlemen, that this behaviour simply cannot be known to, still less sanctioned by you' please send certificate to my address, or if I need to be there let me know when.
