Notes |
This estate has not been identified in the 1817 slave register; however in 1820 Ann Bygrave stated she had registered enslaved people in 1817. The estate was owned by Ann Bygrave in 1820 and 1823, according to the slave registers, and the almanacs give it the name Ann's Hall. The almanacs show Ann's Hall as registered to William Jackson from 1826 to 1840 but if he purchased the enslaved people as well as the land then he will have registered the enslaved people on one of his larger estates (Bannister, Blue Hole, Retreat and Masters) from 1826 onwards. |
