'...[I]n 1816...three partners in the London firm of Prescott, Grote & Prescott loaned £10,000 that was secured on a coffee plantation in Dominica.' The list of enslaved people on whom in fact the loans was also secured [including Galline, Marie Marthe, Gabriel 'Head driver' and Lazar) has allowed LBS to identify this in the 1817 Slave Register as the Gomier estate of Thomas Pagan.
