His entry is followed by those of Edmund S. Girandel and Nere S. Girandel who had 8 and 3 enslaved people on Mt. Pleasant Estate. Edmund and Pere had each purchased 3 enslaved people 'from the succession of the late Nicolas S. Girandel' in June of 1830. The entry for Nicolas Girandel is found on folios 62 to 63 and show how 37 enslaved people, who had bee on Mt. Pleasant estate, were divided; the majority being sold to Messrs Alex. Dalrymple, Doctor Garraway, Ed. Girandel, Thomas Bell, Mrs. L Sorhaindo, L. Chasot, and Nere Girandel; 3 people were freed by his will and one person was given as a gift to Miss Marian Girandel.
