Notes

This estate was owned by Henry Forbes senior until at least 1823, at which point he sold a large portion of the enslaved people upon it to John Bell and distributed the remaining enslaved people amongst his wife and children, possibly to avoid repossession. It's not clear whether or not the transaction included selling land to John Bell; the enslaved people sold to Bell were then purchased by William Robertson for Strathnavar in St George.
