Not traced to date in the slave registers or compensation records. In 1824, John M'Lean jun. said that he had on Jan 1st 1816 moved [from Lusignan] to Pln Washington, a cotton estate with 306 negroes [Alexander McDonnell Considerations on Negro Slavery (London, 1824) p. 155]. |

Born into slavery in Carriacou, Grenada, Malvina Wells became a lady's maid in Edinburgh and a trusted family friend to her employers.
