Notes |
Rutland Vale was formed from Lots No. 58 and 59 (43 and 5 acres, originally purchased by De la Caze and Clapham respectively); Lots No. 64, 65 and 66 (110, 38 and 46 acres, purchased by Jackson, Clapham and Jackson respectively); Lot No. 69 and 72 (53 and 15 acres, both purchased by Jackson); and Lots No. 56, 57, part of 58, 59-67 and 69-73 (totalling c. 369 acres) originally leased to French settlers. It is possible that the primary purchaser 'Jackson' was Josias Jackson MD: the estate was later owned by his son, also Josias. |
