Between 1674 and 1695 the land of Ashton Hall owned by the Dewsbury family. It was then acquired by the Maynard family but by 1734 had been acquired by Thomas Withers and Thomas Harrison as a consequence of a Common Pleas levy. Harrison was a merchant planter of St Michael, Barbados. |

Under his Will, John Harrison bequeathed Ashton hall to his sister Mary Walke, wife of John Walke of St. Thomas, according to Hughes Queree. The summary of the will of Hon. John Harrison of St Michael dated 14/04/1755 and proved 30/04/1755 in Shilstone, 'Harrison of Barbados' reproduced in Brandow Genealogies of Barbados Families shows instead the bequest of the Ashton Hall estate to his nephew Thomas Harper Harrison at 23, then to Harrison Walk[e], then to three other nephews.

Under his Will, Harrison Walke, son of John and Mary Walke, neé Harrison, bequeathed all his real estate to his brother Thomas Walke of St. Thomas. The will also makes mention of his niece Jennet Sober, wife of Sampson Wood Sober.

In his Will, Thomas Walke of St. Thomas, bequeathed Ashton Hall to his niece Jennet Sober and her husband Sampson Wood Sober. (He also bequeathed the Overhill plantation in St. Andrew and a plantation in St. Thomas previously owned by the Hon. James Carter (Walke’s Spring).
