It appears that Hon. Samuel Hinds MD died c. 1824, leaving Maynard to two of his sons, William Prescod Hinds and Samuel Hinds, and that Samuel died shortly afterwards c. 1826. In his will he left his half of Maynards to his brother.

Notes

The Maynard family established by 1721 (and probably earlier). By 1738 William Maynard was heavily in debt and trustees (Hillary Rowe and Walter Caddell) were appointed to manage the plantation.

Hon. William Maynard mortgaged pltn to Sir William Baker for £3,000 sterling.

At his death in 1771 [in fact 1770], the executors of Sir William Baker of London took possession of the plantation. Sold it to Samuel Hinds of St. Peter.
