Notes

The Coverley plantation in Christ Church first appears in 1638 when Thomas Coverley was in a list of owners of 10 acres or more. By 1654 it was in the hands of the Frere family (initially Capt John and then his son Tobias). It remained in the ownership of the Frere family until at least 1764. By 1816 (and possibly earlier) it had been bought by Abel Rous Dottin.
