[Crop] Cotton Announcement of the public execution sale of the cotton Plantation Recess situated in a Cary [sic] on the east coast of Demerary (with its 'appurtenances' and the enslaved people on it) to be held in March 1816 in behalf of James Watson versus the representative of Alexander Tulloh, proprietor of Plantation Recess.

Jamaican-born widow of a prominent slave-owner; resident in Britain following the death of her husband in 1818. Accused - and acquitted - of the cruel treatment of some enslaved people whom she brought to Britain with her.
