Notes

Forster Hall was named after Thomas Forster who estbalished the plantation in 1680 with 188 acres in St Joseph and 133 in St John. The Forster family owned the plantation until, through marriage it passed to the Holder family. For this and subsequent developments see evolutions.

Hon. Henry Evans Holder, owner of Joe’s River plantation married Elizabeth Forster. Following her death he married Abel Dudley Alleyne.

1754 Anthony Davis of Boston in North America and Elizabeth Davis, his wife, formerly Elizabeth Adams, spinster, of Barbados, daughter of Wm. Adams acting through Michael NcNamara of Barbados, attorney of Davis et al and brother-in-law of Davis, mortgaged to Hon. Henry Evans Holder of St. Joseph a plantation in St. Joseph and St. John formerly part of plantation of Geo. Forster, deceased, 241 acres. In the same year Henry Evans Holder mortgaged to Charles Long of England, £5000 sterling secured on Holder’s plantation called Forster Hall.
