Notes

The first owners appears to have been the Taitt family in 1721. Under the will of Samuel Osborne in 1736, the plantation bought from Thomas & Robert Taitt and acquired by Samuel Osborne's son, James Osborne. The adjoining plantation, Springhead [q.v.] also acquired by James Osborne. From c.1725-1846, Taitts & Springhead under the same ownership. In 1753 Agnes, daughter of James Osborne, married Sir Philip Gibbes, Bt.
