Notes

According to Hughes-Queree, following James Brandow, Genealogies of Barbados families (1983), p. 32, in 1753 William Gibbes left to his wife the Spring, Blackrock and Small Hope estates, with Spring or Blackrock to be passed on to their grandson William Gibbes Alleyne. In 1761, a marriage settlement with Mercy Dottin, daughter of the Hon. John Dottin, specifying the plantation of William Gibbes Alleyne: 190 acres and 78 enslaved. It was then left in 1783 to Alleyne's second wife, Elizabeth Lane. It is not clear what happened between then and Walcott's ownership by 1817.

It is probable that this was (a) the same Walcott - the name in the Levy book is given as Robert Walcott junior and (b) that it referred to the same estate as this one.
