1803 - 30th Jan 1880
Grandson of Sir Elijah Impey, Chief Justice of Bengal (1732-1809), and the son-in-law of William Mayne of this claim (q.v.) and Eliza Taylor.
Married Eliz., oldest daughter of Col. Mayne of Boulney Court, 06/10/1830. Capt. S[imon] W[illiam] Mayne, whose will - proved at Brussels in 1843 and of which Michael Elijah Impey was an executor - identified his parents as Major-General William Mayne and Elizabeth Taylor, was himself identified as the son of Col. Mayne, Boulney Court on his marriage in 1829 ('Boulney' is given as 'Bolney' in some sources). William Mayne, the husband of Eliza Taylor, is referred to as 'Col. Mayne' with the Life Guards in the Taylor papers and his life-dates are given there as 1776-1843. It appears that both William Mayne the father and Simon William Mayne died in Brussels in 1843.
The baptism records for the children of Michael Elijah Impey and Elizabeth give their address as 49 Charlotte Street (1835), Charlotte Street (1836), 1A Devonshire Street (1839 and 1843) and 4 Duchess Street (1848).
Died 30/01/1880, late of The Elms, Mortlake, Surrey, widow Elizabeth (one of executors), personal estate under £12,000.
