  1. Thomas Brown Esq of New Grove London married Miss Drewett, daughter of Peter Drewett of Colerne [near Bath] in 1806. Thomas Drewett Brown of Jarrow, co. Durham, JP, eldest son of Thomas Brown late of New Grove Stepney Middlesex by Susanna, eldest of three daughters and coheirs of Peter Drewett of Colerne Co. Wilts, in compliance with the will of his maternal aunt Frances wife of Benjamin Granger of Norwood Surrey to take the name of Drewett only, and bear the arms of Drewett. Lydia Frances Brown of Stepney married John Clervaux Chaytor Esq. [second son of Sir William Chaytor of Witton Castle, co. Durham), at St Andrew Holborn 30/01/1834, when Thomas Brown and Thomas Drewett Brown were among the witnesses.

  2. Burial of Thomas Brown of New Grove Mile End aged 78 at Holy Trinity Mile End Old Town 26/02/1841. Will of Thomas Brown of New Grove proved 24/02/1841. The will disposes of his Barkwell and Jarrow estates and alludes to collieries associated with Jarrow, but makes no mention of West India property. It appears possible that he was the Thomas Brown who was a partner in with John Straker & Co., shipbuilders of Jarrow, until 1834. His path to ownership in Antigua is not yet clear.
