Hugh Parkin

Solicitor to the GPO in London, son-in-law and executor and trustee of John Blagrove, awarded compensation with James and Augustus Hill Bradshaw (both of whom q.v.) as executors and trustees of John Blagrove on 5 estates in Jamaica.

Marriage 25/11/1816 of Hugh Parkin, esq., only son of Anthony P., esq., solicitor to the Post Office, to Mary-Charlotte, fourth daughter of John Blagrove, esq., of Jamaica and of Ankerwyke-house, Bucks. Baptism at St George Bloomsbury 16/10/1817 of Charlotte Elizabeth Parkin, daughter of Hugh and Mary Charlotte Parkin.

2. In 1851 Hugh Parkin aged 58 wid[owe]r, fundholder, born Highgate was living at 8 Stanhope Street Paddington with daughters Charlotte E. Parkin 33 born Marylebone and Maria H 19 born Balcombe Sussex. In 1861 Hugh Parkin aged 68 Gentleman born Highgate was living at Swarthfield, Martindale, Cumberland. The will of Hugh Parkin, formerly of Ashurst Lodge in Kent but late of Swarthfield Westmoreland and Stanhope Street Hyde Park Gardens who died 16/03/1871 at Swarthfield proved 13/04/1871, effects under £35,000.
