Biography

The will of John Roe [heretofore of the island of Jamaica, afterwards of Upper Bedford Place but now residing at] Boulogne France [made in 1835] was proved 23/07/1850. In the will he appointed trustees including Isaac Westmoreland (q.v) for his wife Hannah and then his daughter Maria. He does not mention his specific estate in Jamaica or the apprenticeship, implying he might have sold it and their services during the compensation process (in which he received the award for the Caen Wood estate).
