Lawrence Gibson appeared as awardee in 10 claims in Kingston, Manchester, St Andrew and St Elizabeth. This was probably the same man, and was also probably the Lawrence Gibson, partner with Peter Sinclair in Sinclair and Gibson of Glasgow and Gibson and Sinclair of Kingston Jamaica, merchants and commission agents, who were made bankrupt in 1829.
