William Murray

Awarded the compensation in right of his wife Keturah Shepherd for the enslaved people on an estate in Barbados unidentified from the compensation records but inferred from the Slave Registers to have been Bruce Vale.

1. The couple baptised three children at St Mary Hornsey between 1798 and 1801.

2. William and Keturah Murray's daughter Elizabeth Pilgrim was the mother of the colonial governor Sir George Berkeley (1819-1905).

3. The will of William Murray late of the parish of St Michael Barbados who died 27/09/1858 at Barbados proved in London 07/01/1860 by William Murray the son Superintendent and Manager of the Colonial Bank, effects in England under £450.
