The Registers record Thomas Henery Dummett as the owner of ten enslaved people in Barbados in 1817 and 1820 (James, Mimbah, Mary, Rachael, Charlotte Jane, Kitty, Ned, Sam, Philly Ann, and Henry), and one in 1829 (James).
According to the local Demerary newspaper, Thomas Henery Dummett was sent to Demerary in 1805 upon his appointment to a Board of Commissioners "investigating accounts of army expenditure" in the West Indies.
