In 1851 John W Hicks fundholder aged 70 born Bath was living at 17 [sic] Lansdowne Crescent Bath with wife Susan [sic] aged 62 and son Edward W. Hicks aged 35 of the East India Company. Will of John William Hicks of Lansdown Crescent Bath proved 27/02/1854. In it he left his Jamaica estates to his son John William Hicks [III] and the rest of his estate among his six children: he left his house No. 16 Lansdowne Crescent to his wife for life, then to John William Hicks [III].
The will of John William Hicks of Walcot Somerset proved 15/05/1800 was that of the father of John William Hicks the awardee, and left his estates in Britain and Jamaica in trust for his son.
