Awarded the compensation for Richmond Vale in St David and Pen Hill in Port Royal as executrix of her father William Read, the mortgagee-in-possession of the two estates, which had been owned by Leonard Wray.

Will of Elizabeth Read spinster of Cheltenham Gloucester proved 09/05/1854. She left £1333 to the executors of her late sister Mrs Gray to be treated as part of Mrs Gray's estate and £1000 to her sister Martha Wray to be deducted from the debt of £1500 owed by Martha Wray to her [the testator]. The rest of her estate was to be divided between her nephews Richard and Charles Connolly and her nieces Mrs Cecil Smith, Margaret Scott and Agnes Scott. She left any part or interest she had in Greville Villa situate at the Park near Cheltenham but in the parish of Leckhampton to her niece Mary Wray. In two codicils she revoked the bequest to the executors of Mrs Gray (reallocating the money among her nephews and nieces), and left the £500 still owing from Mrs Wray to Mary Wray.
