Biography

The 1798 will of Joseph Peart bequeathing property to his nephew John Peart (q.v.) bequeathes £300 to his nieces the daughter's of Joseph's late brother William, mariner, late of Butterwick in Lincs., and also makes bequests to Joseph's nephews Edward, Robert, William (c. 1778-1830), Joseph and his nieces Mary Ann and Susannah,of Newark-upon-Trent, all (with John Peart above) the children of Joseph's brother John (1742-98). A William Peart died at Butterwick 1830 aged 52. This awardee is presumably son or nephew of that William.
