Merchant and slave-owner of Kingston Jamaica.

  1. Administration of the will of Benjamin Caractacus Patey merchant of Kingston Jamaica granted 30/04/1838. In the will made in 1827, with codicils of 1829 and 1835 changing his executors, he left his unspecified property in Jamaica and Britain to his wife Eliza Rodon Patey. He had a life insurance policy for £1000 with the Atlas Insurance Co. The grant of administration described him as formerly of the parish of Thorpe near the City of Norwich.
