Probably Mary Earl, daughter of an enslaved woman named Hardtime on Orange Valley estate in Trelawny, and Edward Earl, the white owner of Seafield Pen in Trelawny. Edward Earl had been overseer on Orange Valley and had 8 children with Hardtime born between c. 1789 and c. 1808 while Edward Earl was overseer there. Edward Earl manumitted 7 of his children with Hardtime and another 3 children born to Lucretia in 1808. His youngest child Rosey, daughter of Hardtime, was born into slavery on Orange Valley estate and manumitted after his death, according to the terms of his will.
