Connected to John Campbell Esquire of St Thomas-in-the-Vale, Jamaica (not the same person as Lieut. John Campbell of the same place). Probably mother of Mary Campbell, certainly her guardian. Mary and Eleanor both inherited enslaved people from John Campbell and also purchased enslaved people from his estate.
Probably the Eleanor Campbell, "a black woman", who was baptised in St Thomas-in-the-Vale, 11/10/1817. Mary would have been born after 1811, to still be a minor in 1832. Mary was awarded slave compensation in her own right so probably turned 21 between 1832 and 1838.
Rose Campbell, listed as co-owner of enslaved people in St Thomas-in-the-Vale with Mary, was probably another daughter of John Campbell and Eleanor Savage.
