25th Jan 1811 - 18th Sep 1848
Baptised St Ann, Jamaica: “Feb 20th Baptised John M McDermot son of Charles McDermot and Ann his wife, born on the 25th January 1811.”
In 1807, the list of baptism sponsors for Charles, son of Charles and Ann McDermot, included Mrs E. Clement, indicating a link to the Clement family going back over two decades. John McKenzie McDermott’s own middle name suggests links to Orangefield’s previous McKenzie owners.
Died 18th September 1848: “John McKenzie McDermott, male, aged 37, Gentleman, of liver complaint; informant: C H McDermott [brother], Surgeon, Orangefield.”
