1798 - 20th Aug 1869
Awarded the compensation for one enslaved person in Cape of Good Hope.
The compensation records apparently add a note "married to J. Addey". However, Rubinstein shows Harrison Watson as a 'prominent banker in Cape Town in the 1830s and 1840s, and then connected with John Robert Thomson & Co., and Colquhoun Thomson of 1 Laurence Pountney Hill', and then marrying Nancy Watson [sic] in 1830. The latter firm was described in the 1863 [P.O.] directory as West India merchants.
