Biography

Robert Burke of Dublin claimed unsuccessfully as owner-in-fee for the compensation for the enslaved people on the Phoenix estate in Trelawny, which was paid to the mortgagees Miles & Kington of Bristol. The estate and enslaved people attached to it had passed to him around 1826 from John Burke. By 1840 the estate was shown as belonging the heirs of Robert Burke. He has not yet been traced further by LBS.
