1763 - 1865
London fishmonger, counterclaimed apparently unsuccessfully on the Hermitage estate in Grenada as grantee of an annuity of £185 18s secured by assignment of legacy bequeathed by will of James Baillie: the Register of Claims identifies him as Rowland Ryley, 3 Orange Street, Red Lion Square. To date the origin of the assignment of the legacy to him has not been traced: there is no obvious family connection and it might have been a private credit arrangement.
