John Ewart & Co., brokers and commission merchants of Liverpool, counterclaimed unsuccessfully for the compensation for Antigua claim no. 116. This was almost certainly the same man who was a partner with William Myers (q.v.) in Ewart, Myers & Co. and therefore also an awardee for Antigua claim no. 86 (Long Lane Delap's), but LBS has not yet traced John Ewart & Co. to verify that the eponymous senior partner was the same John Ewart as the partner in Ewart, Myers.
