Daughter of Rev. Nathaniel Gilbert of Gilbert's in Antigua and his wife Elizabeth nee Lavington. Her representative Rev. Thomas Scott (q.v.) counterclaimed unsuccessfully for compensation for Gilbert's estate in Antigua for a legacy of £1800 under the will of Nathaniel Gilbert.
Born in 1758 and baptised at Wandsworth by John Wesley. According to her great-nephew Sir George Gilbert Scott (q.v.), she "treasured up most affectionately her personal recollections of John Wesley himself, and retained through life a strong sympathy with his followers".
Died at Gawcott in Buckinghamshire, aged 73, in the house of Rev. Thomas Scott, her niece's husband, 29/08/1832.
