Probably the John Reece, age 53, annuitant, born Barbados living at 4 Upper Somerset Place, Stoke Dameral, Devon, in the census of 1851 living with his wife Emma, age 35 and children John D, age 6, Henry age 4, Arthur age 3, Isabella E age 2 age 10 months and two female servants. The three eldest children were born in Exeter, the two youngest in Stoke Dameral.
