Margaret Henckell

Biography

Given as 'the late Mrs' Margaret Henckell in the Slave Registers, but conceivably the Margaret Henckell who appears as the sister of John Henckell, Chief Justice of Jamaica, in the latter's will made in 1799. The will of the sister (Margaret Henckell, spinster of Hampstead) was proved 16/01/1802: it makes no reference to 'slave-property.'
