1777 - 1831
Only son of Peter Beckford of Stepleton (q.v.) and Louisa Pitt. Born Horace William Beckford, he changed his name to Pitt on inheriting the title and estates of his maternal uncle in 1829. He drowned in the Serpentine in 1831, arousing suspicion of suicide.
