Owner of Banbury estate in Westmoreland, Jamaica, and probably a partner in Goodwin, Ritchie & Distin as medical practitioners in Westmoreland in the 1810s. John Paxton Goodwin was shown as surgeon since 22/01/1806 in the Westmoreland militia in the 1817 and 1824 Almanacs.
Two sons of John Paxton Goodwin and Susan Rutherford was baptised in Westmoreland, Jamaica, 25/04/1814.
