Owner of Glenbirnie estate in Westmoreland, Jamaica, from at least 1828 to 1837. Son of James Gale Senior senior and his wife Letitia nee Martin. James Gale Senior (d. 1797) bequeathed Saltspring in St Elizabeth to his four children as tenants in common. By 1834 Bernard Martin Senior appears to have been sole owner of Saltspring.
