Biography

  1. Will of Robert McDowall of Grenada [made and attested in 1817] proved 05/04/1819. He left £1000 to each of his four children William, Mary, John and Robert Mcdowall, with instructions that they be kept at school and supported by other funds from his estate and then put to some trade or business that they might choose [implicitly these were his natural children]. He left £3000 to the six children of John McConnell proprietor of Isle Rhonde estate in Grenada; £500 to his brother William Macdowall residing in London, and £550 to each of William's children Thomas and Anna Lina [sp?]. He freed his 'negro' named Joe and gave him a present of £20 currency.
