1749 - 1823
Susanna Hyde Gale, daughter of Francis Gale of Liguanea Jamaica and Susanna Hall, married Admiral Alan Gardner (1742-1808, MP for Plymouth 1790-1796 and for Westminster 1796-1806).
Gentleman's Magazine carried an obituary for her in 1823, recording her death in her 74th year and describing her as 'only daughter and sole heiress of Francis Gale of Liguanea in Jamaica (by Susannah Hall, eldest daughter of James Hall, Esq., relict of Sabine Turner Esq.)'. Other sources, including the History of Parliament entry, are unanimous in showing Susanna Hyde Gale rather than her mother as the relict of Sabine Turner. Susanna Hyde Gale of St Andrew, spinster, married Sabine Turner of Kingston Esquire in St Andrew, 21/12/1765.
Joshua Reynolds' portrait of Susanna Gale (1763-1764) is held by the National Gallery of Victoria.
