Owner of Whitbeck estate in St Elizabeth, Jamaica. Deceased by 1830.
- Will of William Johnson of St Elizabeth Cornwall Jamaica [made and attested in Jamaica in 1828] proved [in London] 16/05/1829. Under the will he instructed that whatever balance he had with Messrs Plummer & Wilson be invested in the funds and the dividends paid to his sister Mrs Jane Fell for her benefit and that of his other two sisters Margaret and Ann. He left to Moses Lopes the enslaved people William, Joe, Hannah and her offspring 'p. Register', to be given up to Lopes two years after his decease. He instructed his estate, which he gave as Whatbeck, be sold and the proceeds invested in the funds by Plummer & Wilson with the dividends paid to his sisters. He freed a 'negro woman' Nelly and her six children but specify that all his other 'slaves' be sold with the estate.
