Sarah Dehany formerly Byndloss (née Jones)

1761 - 1833

Biography

Sarah nee Jones was married twice, first to Matthew Byndloss and then after Byndloss's death to George Dehany in 1786. The latter couple had three surviving children. George Dehany died in 1807 [some sources give 1806] and their children settled in Britain, with two of them residing in London.

  1. Will of Sarah Dehany widow [formerly] of Canterbury Kent [formerly of the City of Chichester] [and late of Nottingham Street in the parish of St Marylebone] [made in 1824] proved 02/11/1833. She referred to an indenture of 1793 and her marriage settlement, both with George Dehany, and under her power granted in those agreements she left her 'plantations, lands, slaves, tenements and hereditaments' in Jamaica to her daughters Eliza Whitehorne Dehany and Mary Favell Dehany, and her jewels and plate equally between her son William Knight Dehany and her two daughters.
