Son of William Henry Ricketts (b. 1755, the son of John Ricketts and brother of George Crawford Ricketts I) and his wife Ann Elizabeth. Inherited a share in Wood Hall, St Elizabeth, Jamaica, on the death of his father (whose will was proved 1806). He sold one moiety of Wood Hall to his brother-in-law Alexander Bayley (q.v.).
