???? - 1822
John McLeod 'of Lewis' was reported by Alexander Innes as recently deceased when Innes visited the Colbeck estate in St Dorothy's in January 1824. The ODNB shows Donald McLeod, the brother of John McLeod senior and father of John McLeod the younger, as of Lewes in Sussex in its entry for John McLeod the younger's brother-in-law Sir Arthur Brooke Faulkner (q.v.), but this appears erroneous: clan McLeod is associated with Lewis the island off western Scotland.
