Biography

Slave-owner in Jamaica. Shown as an absentee in 1826 and 1829, and still alive c. 1832. His executor William Brooks King was awarded the compensation for the enslaved people on Egg Hill in Portland in 1835, but to date no will has been traced for Thomas King in England around this date. Both William Brooks King and James Bryan King, who acted as attorney for the Egg Hill estate in the 1820s, are associated in genealogical sources as the sons of Francis King (d. 1791 in Jamaica).
