Colonel Richard Swarton was the father of Ann Swarton who married Nathaniel Phillips in 1761. He owned a half share in Pleasant Hill plantation with Nathaniel Phillips. On his death the estate passed to his daughter.
Richard Swarten and Philip Pinnock was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 985 acres of land in St Thomas-in-the-East.
